All of our safety training
programs meet US and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety
obligations. They cover
all of the topics that everyone else covers. So why do we achieve
such positive, lasting results?
ü We
do not deliver 'canned' programs.
ü Training is
customized to the tasks performed and to your industry.
ü We incorporate
behavioral sciences to appeal to individual values.
ü We show people the
benefits of 'engaging the mind before the hand'.
ü Our programs are
interactive and entertaining.
Ultimately, there is no magic formula.
Simply... we discuss the real issues faced in the workplace
and how we are personally responsible for our own safety and that of our
colleagues. We encourage the group to look at how the safety
culture in North America has improved and what our responsibilities
are to continue this trend.
Historically, "training"
involved a classroom of participants and an instructor that simply read
data from slides or out of a handbook. We believe that this
approach DOES NOT provide a positive learning environment and retention
is limited; nor does it provide
any value to the employer who invested in the training. If your staff
is "historically trained", you will receive documentation that
the training is complete and there will be some information retained.
This, however, does not change the safety behavior or attitude of your
staff nor does it address the specific needs that your company is
facing.
In order to achieve a
truly significant safety improvement, Abstract Solutions
begins by investigating the specific safety requirements of your company
and the industry you operate in. We review the codes and regulations
specific to your business and customize a training program
that addresses these needs. We use interaction, humor, real world
situations, a comfortable environment and participation to keep
the entire class involved and actively learning. We "facilitate"
our classrooms through group activities and use behavioral
techniques to achieve maximum buy-in.
The result... participants
will know and understand their safety obligations and you will
note a significant improvement in individual behavior and attitude
towards safety.
